School Uniform Size Guide

A little measuring before you order can help you choose the right size and avoid unnecessary returns or exchanges.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Age sizes are provided as a general guide, but sizing can vary between garments and manufacturers.

For the best fit, we recommend comparing the product measurements with a similar garment that already fits your child well. Please also check the individual product description, as additional sizing information may be available.

HOW TO MEASURE THE CHEST

Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape level and comfortably loose.

Alternatively, lay a well-fitting jumper, polo shirt or blazer flat and measure from armpit to armpit. Double this measurement to find the approximate chest size.

HOW TO MEASURE THE WAIST

Measure around the child’s natural waist, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

You can also measure the waistband of a well-fitting skirt or pair of trousers laid flat. Double this measurement to find the approximate waist size.

HOW TO MEASURE THE INSIDE LEG

Measure from the top of the inside leg down to where you would like the trouser hem to sit.

Alternatively, measure the inside leg seam of a well-fitting pair of trousers, from the crotch seam to the hem.

HOW TO MEASURE GARMENT LENGTH

Lay a well-fitting garment flat and measure from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom hem.

Compare this measurement with any sizing information shown on the product page, allowing a little extra room for growth where appropriate.

Between Two Sizes?

If your child falls between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size to allow a little room for growth.

Avoid sizing up by more than necessary, as an overly large garment may be uncomfortable and may not meet your school’s uniform requirements.
